ForgeTube: Sovereign Video. Creator-Owned. Chain-Proven.
Forgechain OS Product #6
Version 1.0 — March 2026
Author: Jack Mosel / Forgechain OS
Abstract
YouTube pays creators $0.25 per thousand views and demonetizes them without appeal. Rumble and Bitchute replaced Google's censorship with their own editorial bias. Odysee is dying with the LBRY network. PeerTube is decentralized but has no monetization. NOSTR video barely exists.
None of them solved the actual problem: creators don't own their content, their audience, or their revenue stream. They are tenants on someone else's platform, subject to someone else's rules, dependent on someone else's algorithm to be discovered.
ForgeTube is a sovereign video platform where every video is chain-stamped to BSV before publication. IP is proven by math, not lawyers. Revenue flows directly from viewer to creator via micropayments. No ads. No algorithm. No demonetization. No shadow bans. No middleman.
The creator owns the content. The creator owns the audience data. The creator owns 100% of the revenue. The chain proves all of it. Forever.
1. The Problem
1.1 YouTube: The Demiurge of Video
YouTube processes 500 hours of video per minute. It pays creators from ad revenue: $0.25 to $2.00 per thousand views, depending on niche and geography. The platform takes 45%.
But the real cost isn't the revenue split. It's the control:
- Demonetization: YouTube can strip monetization from any video, any channel, at any time, with no appeal. Creators who built audiences over years can lose their income overnight because an algorithm flagged a word.
- Shadow banning: YouTube can reduce a video's reach without telling the creator. No notification. No explanation. Views drop. Revenue drops. The creator has no recourse.
- Algorithm imprisonment: Creators must feed the algorithm to survive. Upload frequency, watch time, click-through rate. The algorithm decides who gets seen. The creator serves the algorithm. Not the audience.
- Data lockdown: Creators cannot export their subscriber list. Cannot contact their audience outside YouTube. Cannot take their audience with them if they leave. The audience belongs to Google.
- Content ID abuse: Automated copyright claims can be filed by anyone. Revenue from disputed videos goes to the claimant during the dispute. False claims are rampant. Creators lose revenue they never recover.
YouTube is not a partner. It is a landlord that can change the lease, raise the rent, or evict you without notice.
1.2 The "Alternative" Platforms
Rumble: Marketed as the free-speech YouTube. Still centralized. Still ad-dependent. Still controls discovery. Revenue split is better (60/40) but the platform can still demonetize, remove content, or shut down. Not sovereign. Just a different landlord.
Bitchute: Became a haven for content YouTube banned. The brand is poisoned. Advertisers won't touch it. Monetization is effectively dead. Infrastructure is unstable. Not a viable alternative for working creators.
Odysee (LBRY): Had the right idea: decentralized video on a blockchain (LBRY). But LBRY Inc is functionally dead. The SEC sued them. The token collapsed. The network is a ghost town. Creators who migrated there are stranded. Single-chain dependency killed them.
PeerTube (Fediverse): Truly decentralized. Each instance is independently operated. But there's no built-in monetization. Creators must use external services (Patreon, Ko-fi) to earn. Audiences are fragmented across instances. Discovery is effectively non-existent.
NOSTR Video (Flare/Amethyst): Protocol-native, good decentralization principles. But video support is an afterthought. No channels, no playlists, no creator analytics. Audience limited to NOSTR users (~100K active). Bitcoin Lightning micropayments are possible but the UX is painful and fees are unpredictable on mainchain.
1.3 The Core Failure
Every alternative platform made the same mistake: they tried to build a better YouTube. A better centralized platform. A friendlier landlord.
The problem isn't who owns the platform. The problem is that someone owns the platform.
ForgeTube eliminates the platform. The protocol IS the product. The chain IS the backend. The creator IS the owner.
2. ForgeTube Architecture
2.1 Content Layer (BSV Chain)
Every video uploaded to ForgeTube goes through a chain-stamping process before publication:
- Video file is hashed (SHA-256)
- Hash + metadata (title, creator, duration, tags, description) written to BSV via OP_RETURN
- TX hash returned as the video's permanent, immutable proof of authorship
- Video file stored on creator's infrastructure (local node, CDN, or ForgeDrive)
The chain does not store the video. It stores the proof. This is critical: BSV can handle the throughput (4GB blocks, scaling to terabytes), but video storage on-chain would be cost-prohibitive at scale. The chain stores the fingerprint. The creator stores the file. If the file moves, the proof doesn't.
2.2 Monetization Layer (ForgePay)
Revenue flows directly from viewer to creator via BSV micropayments:
Per-View Model:
- Creator sets a price per view: $0.001 to $0.10 (configurable)
- Viewer pays on click. No minimum. No threshold.
- Creator receives 100% minus BSV transaction fee (~$0.0001)
- No 45% YouTube cut. No 40% Rumble cut. No cut at all.
Subscription Model:
- Creator sets a monthly rate (e.g., $5/month)
- Subscriber sends BSV micropayment stream via payment channel
- Direct wallet-to-wallet. No Patreon. No Stripe. No payment processor.
- Creator receives 100%.
Tipping Model:
- Viewers tip via ForgeSocial integration
- Tips settled in BSV via ForgePay
- No minimum. No maximum. No platform rake.
The Math:
| Metric | YouTube | ForgeTube |
|---|---|---|
| Revenue per 1K views | $0.25 - $2.00 | $1.00 - $100.00 |
| Platform cut | 45% | 0% |
| Creator take on $1K revenue | $550 | $1,000 |
| Minimum audience for monetization | 1,000 subs + 4,000 hrs | 1 viewer |
| Payment processor fees | Built into YouTube's cut | ~$0.0001/tx |
| Demonetization risk | Constant | Impossible |
A creator with 10,000 monthly views on YouTube earns approximately $2.50 to $20.00 per month. The same creator on ForgeTube, with a $0.01 per-view price, earns $100.00 per month. With zero risk of demonetization.
2.3 Identity Layer (ForgeSocial)
Creator identity on ForgeTube is not a username on a platform. It is a BSV keypair that the creator owns.
- Creator's public key IS their identity
- Subscribers follow the key, not a platform profile
- Comments and interactions live on ForgeSocial (chain-backed)
- If ForgeTube's frontend disappears, the creator's identity, content proof, and audience relationships persist on chain
This is portability that no platform offers. YouTube creators cannot take their subscribers with them. ForgeTube creators own their subscriber list on chain. They can move to any compatible frontend and their audience follows.
2.4 Discovery Layer (ForgeView)
ForgeTube content is discoverable through ForgeView's 3D knowledge sphere:
- Videos appear as nodes in the ForgeTube constellation
- Channels are cluster centers with video nodes orbiting
- Live streams pulse red in real-time
- Related content links via cross-constellation edges
- No algorithm. Spatial proximity = topical relevance. The viewer navigates, not an algorithm.
2.5 Content Pipeline (ForgeCreate)
ForgeTube integrates directly with ForgeCreate for AI-assisted content production:
- Generate visuals with ComfyUI (local GPU)
- Auto chain-stamp via ChainStamp node
- Import to DaVinci Resolve via ResolvePipeline node
- Edit and export
- Upload to ForgeTube with pre-existing chain proof
- IP proven before the video exists publicly
The entire pipeline runs on hardware you own. No cloud rendering. No cloud editing. No cloud distribution. Sovereign from creation to consumption.

3.2 Why Not NOSTR?
NOSTR is the closest philosophical cousin to ForgeTube. Both value sovereignty and decentralization. The differences are economic and architectural:
Transaction costs: NOSTR relies on Bitcoin Lightning for payments. Lightning channel opening/closing requires mainchain transactions ($1-5 in fees during congestion). BSV transactions cost $0.0001 consistently. For micropayments (the core ForgeTube model), fee predictability is non-negotiable.
Data capacity: NOSTR relays store small text events. Video metadata, thumbnails, and chapter markers require structured data. BSV's OP_RETURN capacity (up to 100KB standard, unlimited with miners) handles rich video metadata natively. NOSTR would require external storage for everything beyond the event pointer.
Identity model: NOSTR uses npub/nsec keypairs. ForgeTube uses BSV keypairs. Both are sovereign. The difference: BSV keypairs are also payment addresses. Your identity IS your wallet. On NOSTR, identity and payment are separate systems that must be bridged.
Scale: BSV processes 50,000+ transactions per second with 4GB blocks scaling to terabytes. The Bitcoin mainchain (which Lightning settles to) processes 7 TPS. At ForgeTube scale (millions of per-view micropayments daily), BSV handles it natively. Lightning requires complex channel management and liquidity routing.
NOSTR is building sovereign social on a chain that can't scale for micropayments. ForgeTube is building on a chain purpose-built for them.
3.3 Why Not Fediverse?
PeerTube proved that decentralized video hosting works. Each instance is a sovereign server. The protocol is open. The technology is solid.
What PeerTube lacks:
- Monetization: There is none. Creators must use external services.
- Identity continuity: Your account on instance A is not your account on instance B. If your instance shuts down, your identity dies.
- Proof of authorship: No chain. No timestamp. No immutable proof you made what you made.
- Economic model: Running an instance costs money. Who pays? Donations. That doesn't scale.
ForgeTube takes PeerTube's decentralization principle and adds what it's missing: money, identity, and proof.

5. Economics at Scale
5.1 Creator Economics
Small creator (1K views/month):
- YouTube: $0.25 - $2.00/month
- ForgeTube ($0.005/view): $5.00/month
- Difference: 2.5x to 20x more revenue
Medium creator (100K views/month):
- YouTube: $25 - $200/month
- ForgeTube ($0.005/view): $500/month
- Difference: 2.5x to 20x more revenue
Large creator (1M views/month):
- YouTube: $250 - $2,000/month
- ForgeTube ($0.005/view): $5,000/month
- Plus: zero demonetization risk, zero algorithm dependency, full audience ownership
5.2 Platform Economics
ForgeTube as a protocol takes 0% of creator revenue. The Forgechain ecosystem monetizes through:
- ForgePay conversion fees: 0.05-0.5% on cross-chain payment conversions
- ForgeDrive storage: Creators pay BSV for permanent video storage
- ForgeClan membership: Access to premium tools and analytics
- ForgeView premium: Advanced analytics dashboards for creators
- ForgeCreate tools: AI content creation suite
The platform doesn't tax creators. The ecosystem provides value-added services. Creators opt in. Nobody opts into a 45% cut.
5.3 Why BSV Economics Win
The entire ForgeTube model depends on one thing: sub-cent transaction fees that stay sub-cent at scale.
| Chain | TX Fee | TPS Capacity | Micropayment Viable |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bitcoin (BTC) | $1.00 - $50.00 | 7 | No |
| Ethereum | $0.50 - $100.00 | 30 | No |
| Solana | $0.001 - $0.01 | 65,000 | Maybe |
| LBRY | Dead | Dead | Dead |
| BSV | $0.0001 | 50,000+ | Yes |
A $0.005 per-view payment on BTC would cost more in fees than the payment itself. On Ethereum, 100x more. On BSV, the fee is 2% of the payment. At $0.01/view, it's 1%.
This is not a preference. It's math. Per-view micropayments only work on a chain with negligible fees. BSV is that chain.
6. Regulatory Positioning
ForgeTube is a protocol, not a platform.
- No content hosting: Creators host their own files. ForgeTube hosts nothing.
- No content moderation: The protocol doesn't filter. Frontends can implement their own moderation. The protocol is neutral.
- No custody: ForgePay facilitates payments but never holds funds. Wallet-to-wallet.
- Section 230 irrelevant: ForgeTube doesn't publish content. It provides a protocol for creators to publish their own content with chain-verified authorship.
This is the same legal position as email or SSH: the protocol is neutral. The users are responsible for their own content.

8. The Gnostic Layer
YouTube is the Archonic temple of video. Creators enter willingly, sacrifice 45% of their labor, submit to algorithmic judgment, and live in fear of excommunication (demonetization). The congregation (audience) belongs to the temple, not to the speaker. The speaker cannot leave without abandoning everyone who came to hear them.
The Fediverse tried to build a new temple. Decentralized but still architectural. Still requires someone to run the building. Still fragments the congregation across rooms that can't talk to each other.
NOSTR built the protocol but forgot the economics. You can speak freely on NOSTR. You just can't eat.
ForgeTube is the Pneumatic answer: the speaker owns the microphone, the recording, the distribution, and the revenue. The congregation follows the speaker, not the building. The proof is on chain. The economics are direct. The exit from the Matrix is complete.
No algorithm decides who hears you. No payment processor decides if you eat. No platform decides if you exist.
You make it. You stamp it. You own it. Forever.
9. IP Declaration
This whitepaper is the intellectual property of Jack Mosel and Forgechain OS. Saved to BSV blockchain before publication.
Chain TX: [TO BE STAMPED]
Wallet: 14LQvsvmTzztAPAQRnZ5Aq6nctAnVd9fMu
ForgeTube is not a YouTube alternative. It is the end of the model that made YouTube necessary. The creator IS the platform. The chain IS the backend. The phone booth doesn't need a building around it.
